23RD ANNUAL KATHLEEN FERRIER BURSARY COMPETITION

Ruby was extremely lucky to be selected by her college for the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Society Bursary Competition, now in its 23rd year. Ruby had a wonderful experience performing some well known repertoire alongside some rarer pieces and received some lovely comments from the judges and audience alike on her performance. 

it was a privilege to represent her college at such an amazing competition and in a beautiful venue such as King George's Hall in Blackburn. 

Ruby will next be competing in the David Clover festival's 'Singers Platform' in January. Keep checking back to find out how she gets on!

DAVID CLOVER FESTIVAL OF SINGING 2019

Ruby had a lovely weekend competing in the David Clover Festival of Singing 'Singer's platform' section in January 2019.

She competed in the recital section alongside 27 other singers, most of whom were much older, more experienced singers.

Ruby was thrilled to be chosen as one of five finalists in her section to perform again on the Sunday Evening as Tapton Hall in Sheffield.

She sang three pieces from her first round programme; Sweeter than Roses by Purcell, Deh Vieni non Tardar by Mozart and one of her favourite pieces to perform, Pink! by Ben Parry. 

it was a truly lovely experience and Ruby received excellent feedback from the panel as well as invaluable performance experience.

RNCM OPERA DEBUT-

VAUGHAN WILLIAMS'

'THE PILGRIMS PROGRESS'

Ruby is thrilled to announce she will be making her Opera chorus debut in the RNCM's Spring production of The Pilgrims Progress by Vaughan Williams.

Rehearsals are well underway and Ruby is so excited to be involved in such a modern new take on this production.

The music is both challenging and beautiful and Ruby can't wait to share all the hard work with audiences in all five performances.
